Victoria authories have charged porn entrepreneur Garion Hall with child pornography and obscenity. Hall owns AbbyWinters.com and various other pornsites based in Melbourne.
This Herald Sun article doesn’t elaborate on the child porn charges. That likely means that someone under 18 lied about her age when applying for work.
54 out of 57 charges against Hall are for “making objectionable films for gain and possessing a commercial quantity of objectionable films”. “Objectionable”, like “obscene”, is a vague standard. Will Abby Winters content be considered objectionable by modern Australian or Victorian standards? That’s hard to imagine, since Abby Winters is relatively softcore. Their videos rarely stretch beyond solo masturbation or cuddly girl-girl action. (One exception: Abby Winters content frequently includes models pissing on camera, which American studios making much more hardcore content generally shy away from.)
Most of this Herald Sun article consists of two disgruntled former employees complaining about stuff unrelated to the charges against Hall. This bit annoyed me: “The women, who appear on the G Media website as Blaire and Melita, claimed G Media used large cash incentives to lure naive women into performing sex acts on camera.” In other words, the company hired employees, offering money in exchange for services.
